Number of arrivals at Southern Aegean islands airports skyrocketed in July

Tourist arrivals at the Southern Aegean islands skyrocketed posting the highest arrivals’ percentage increase recorded in the current tourism period at monthly basis in comparision with 2019.

Specifically, in July 2022 the direct international flights were over a million, exceeding by 20 percent July 2019 which was a year-record at regional level.

The increase percentages per international airport were 13 pct for Rhodes, 8 pct for Kos, 31 pct for Mykonos and 65 percent for Santorini.

Indicatively, Diagoras airport of Rhodes welcomed approximately 40,000 passengers from abroad on the weekends.

Over 3 million of tourists have visited the islands of Cyclades and the islands of the Dodecanese until July 13.
