The government is working towards the direction of exiting the program, Tzanakopoulos says

“The government is working towards the direction of exiting the program, ahead of the elections in 2019, as the prime minister has said several times,” government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Sunday in an interview with Athina 9.84 radio station.

In this way, he underlined the government’s priority to conclude the negotiation in order to exit the program and then focus on the necessary preparation for the post-memorandum period, thus rejecting the demand of the opposition for early elections.

Regarding the negotiation and the timetable ahead of the Eurogroup on June 21, he underlined that the discussion is focused on a series of sectors: on debt and the post-memorandum surveillance as well as the fourth review, progress has been made.
