The percentage participation of voters in the local government elections nationwide was at 44.6% at 17:30 on Sunday, Alternate Interior Minister Theodoros Livanios said in an update.

According to the Interior ministry data from judicial representatives at 12,984 voting centers, and by extrapolation on the total of 22,722 centers, until 17:30 a total of 4,360,000 voters had exercised their electoral rights.

Percentage participation per region was as follows:

Eastern Macedonia-Thrace – 45.81%
Central Macedonia – 45%
Western Macedonia – 43.7%
Epirus – 49.3%
Thessaly – 49.5%
Ionian Islands – 41.8%
Western Greece – 49.7%
Central Greece – 53.4%
Attica – 38.7%
Peloponnese – 45.1%
North Aegean – 39.4%
South Aegean – 48.1%
Crete – 51.2%

According to an earlier statement by the minister, this is the third and final update on voter participation that will be issued.
