Thirteen unaccompanied minors from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Somalia departed from Athens International Airport on Tuesday, to be relocated to Portugal, said the Migration & Asylum Ministry.

The group comprises twelve boys and one girl.

To date, Portugal has accepted a total of 247 unaccompanied children since the start of the Voluntary Resettlement Program in April 2020.

Another departure will follow at the end of June, which will complete a 50 pct of relocations agreed with the specific country.

A total of 1,233 unaccompanied minors have so far been relocated to 13 EU countries from Greece under this program.
