The Greek government and the institutions agreed on Thursday on the issues of administrative reform, pensions for widows, the out-of-court settlement of debts, a government official said, adding that fiscal issues will be discussed on Friday.
The Eurogroup welcomed on Monday the preliminary agreement reached between Greece and the institutions on a new set of policy reforms to support the country’s economic recovery, saying “the agreement is an important step towards the finalisation of the second review of Greece’s macroeconomic adjustment program”.
Following a short break in the middle of the day, the Greek government and the heads of the institutions’ mission in Athens resumed negotiations on completing the second review on Sunday afternoon.
The six-hour teleconference between the government and the institutions concluded on Friday evening leaving open the labour, social security and energy issues, a government official with knowledge of the negotiations said after the marathon talks.

Talks between the government’s economic team and the mission chiefs of the institutions concluded on Wednesday evening, with talks centering on the staffing of the new privatization fund and the out-of-court settlement of debts.
The main issues that remain open in the ongoing negotiations between the government and the representatives of the institutions are labour laws, fiscal issues and the out-of-court settlement for non-performing loans, a finance ministry official said on Monday evening.
Negotiations between Labour Minister Efi Achtsioglou and the representatives of the institutions as part of the second program review will probably continue during the weekend, a ministry source said on Friday.
The government concluded on Thursday the first round of negotiations with the institutions on the second program review, Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos said on Thursday, adding the heads of the institutions will return on November 14.
