Talks between gov’t and institutions on Thursday to focus on product and energy markets

Talks between the government’s economic team and the mission chiefs of the institutions concluded on Wednesday evening, with talks centering on the staffing of the new privatization fund and the out-of-court settlement of debts.
According to government sources, there was considerable convergence on financial matters and the out-of-court settlement, while there was also progress on the issue of privatization fund. On Thursday, the two sides will discuss the product and energy markets.
Concerning Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos’ visit to Berlin on Thursday, ministry sources said there is no scheduled meeting with German counterpart Wolfgang Schaeuble and that he will not attend Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
