The cycle of cuts has closed and the government has now room to increase the available income without threatening fiscal targets, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Friday in an interview with ‘Sto Kokkino’ radio station.
“From now onwards, despite high primary surpluses, we are creating fiscal space that allows for lower taxes and significant spending for hospitals and schools,” Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos said on Tuesday.
