Alternate Sports Minister, Yiannis Vroutsis, said that he is considering seven new measures to combat fan violence which he will present to the next cabinet meeting.

These include stricter measures for fan clubs, a digital register of fan clubs, the modernization and digitization of the electronic supervision of sports venues, the upgrading of the operation and the responsibilities of the permanent committee for combating violence, the strengthening of administrative measures by the state to deal with delinquency, and the introduction of a delinquency clause for those football clubs that do not comply with the measures.

More specifically, fan clubs are expected to be reduced to only one per team, which will necessarily operate with the consent of the relevant football club.
Regarding the modernization and digitization of the electronic surveillance of sports venues, if any malfunction is found in its operation during the weekly control that will be conducted, the match will be held behind closed doors. The update of the provisions of the electronic ticket and the identification of its owner, utilizing all modern technology, is also provided.

Administrative measures to deal with delinquency include penalties such as matches without spectators, in cases of throwing firecrackers, torches, smoke generators, flares and any generally flammable material that can cause physical damage.
