Sakellaropoulou: The results of climate crisis are already visible, there is no time to waste

President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Thursday sent a message to raise awareness and promote cooperation against the climate crisis, marking the start of the annual UN meeting on the climate.
In a post on Facebook, Sakellaropoulou underlined that “the results of the climate crisis are already visible.
Our neighbourhood in particular, the Mediterranean, has become a hotspot for climate change.” She added that “Mediterranean countries should have a coordinated response and take collective action to reverse the repercussions of climate change.”
In this context, she noted that “we need to have confidence in science and its lessons and first of all, the political will to address the challenge of our century effectively and in time.”
Finally, she said that “every single one of us should do anything possible and contribute in his own way to this collective effort. There is no longer any time to waste”.
