The report produced by a Special Experts’ Committee on the tragic rail accident at Tempi was “objective”, State Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Giorgos Gerapetritis said in an interview with ANT1 TV on Tuesday morning.
Gerapetritis also offered assurances that responsibilities for the accident will be attributed in full, down to the last one. “Greek society demands catharsis,” he said and insisted that the 230-page report did not aim, on any account, to obscure either the circumstances nor the responsibilities for the railway tragedy.
Regarding the upcoming elections, meanwhile, he said that the government’s position was “very clear”.
“The simple proportional representation system is a damper for the development of the country. We want a strong and single-party government, as a reflection of a strong Greece,” stressed the Minister of State, and expressed the opinion that a coalition government with a diverse composition would be a problem for the country.
