Greek Language and Civilization Lessons from Lyceum of Greek Women

Lyceum of Greek Women. APE-MPE

Lykeion ton Hellenidon (Lyceum of Greek Women) is offering free Greek Language and Civilization Lessons for women of Greek or foreign descent for the academic year 2019-2020.

It is the 22nd consecutive year the Lyceum offers the courses.

The lessons are organised by the Historical Archive Section of the Lyceum in Antonopoulou Hall (Megaron), 4 Alexandras Ave. For information, call or fax 210-8227 703. (The announcement is also available on the answering machine.)

Registration is on one day only, October 9 (Wed.), 16:30-19:30. The lessons are free of charge, but there is a registration fee 10 euros.
Women interested in enrolling should come in person on registration day.

Registered students will be placed in one of four levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced, proficient).

Each course runs from late October to early June and meets for one three-hour session per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday afternoons.

This volunteer-based educational program is inspired by the ideas of encouraging women’s solidarity, advancing their social status, especially through education, and preserving and promoting Greek heritage and contemporary culture – the aims set by Kallirrhoe Parren, when she founded the Lyceum Club of Greek Women in 1911.
