The weather instability that prevailed in the last few days in Greece is expected to intensify on Friday, the Meteo service of Athens National Observatory said on Thursday. Athens is included in the areas that are going to be affected by the adverse conditions.

  • From early Friday, rainstorms are expected on the Ionian islands, the Peloponnese and Central Macedonia. In the morning and mostly in the afternoon, rainstorms are expected on the mainland, some parts of Crete and over the islands of Cyclades. The phenomena will be very intense in some areas, probably accompanied by hailstorm.

The temperatures will be at normal levels, with the highest reaching 27C. Winds from variable directions will reach up to 5 on the Beaufort scale.

Clouds will gather over Athens that will gradually bring rain or rainstorms. The phenomena are expected to be intense in some areas. The temperatures in the centre of Athens will range from 16C to 24C.
