“Greek small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can play a central role in the growth and reform of the Greek economy through the creation of new jobs,” economic analysts, representatives of chambers and organizations said in statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Saturday.
They cover the entire range of productive activities and industries, have special potential but also particular concerns. One of the biggest challenges for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises is their access to finance, which was the main problems during the crisis due to the situation of the banking system.
Banks: “Today we are ready with sufficient liquidity and organizational infrastructure”
Nowadays, the Greek banking system is ready to contribute with all its strength to the financing of the economy and especially of small and medium-sized enterprises, as banking officials stress. Banks have liquidity, organizational infrastructure, trained human resources, and are ready to provide funding to all viable business plans, they added.
