Name agreement between Greece and FYROM is a positive precedent, says Austrian ambassador

“In June, Athens and Skopje reached a political agreement on a long-standing issue of FYROM’s name, which is a great diplomatic success for both sides, the United Nations and S.E Europe,” Austrian ambassador Andrea Ikic-Bohm said on Friday on the sidelines of the cultural events organised by the Austrian Embassy in Athens.

The ambassador congratulated Greece, its people, and the European partners for the exit from the memoranda. “I am very happy that I had the chance to live this. With European solidarity, Greece can turn a page and pursue reforms for prosperity. I wish Greece every success and I hope that broad prospects open up for the younger generation,” she stated.

Moreover, she expressed her deep sorrow and condolences to the families of the victims of the fire in Mati.
The statements were made on the sidelines of the “Greek-Austrian Music Summer 2018” festival. The event was held at the Cotsen Hall of the Gennadius Library, in collaboration with the “Gennadius Library Friends Association” and with the support of the “SCHWARZ” Foundation and Martha Walther-Bauer.
