“It is a new starting point for the government, but the goals remain the same: important reforms with the primary aim of improving everyday life for every Greek woman and every Greek man,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

He said that the consultation of the bill for the postal vote will be concluded on Wednesday and it will then be submitted to the Parliament for immediate voting. He added that the bill to speed up the delivery of justice will be submitted to the Parliament over the next few days, while the law on strengthening the public university alongside the operation of non-state, non-profit institutions is posted for public consultation.

Mitsotakis also referred to the plans for urban reform. More specifically, he said that with a significant funding from the Recovery Fund, the drawing up of special and local urban planning plan is now underway throughout the territory.

The initiatives to deal with arbitrary construction are also important, which, as he said, will be presented later by the Minister of the Environment.

He underlined the positive developments related to electricity tariffs, congratulating the Ministry of Environment and Energy, as competition has worked and we have greater transparency in prices while the citizens themselves have a better understanding of how they should make their choices.

The prime minister also said that he will have the opportunity to present with the Minister of Development new initiatives to deal with soaring prices on Wednesday.

“Consistency and work are what will characterize us in the new year as well,” he said and welcomed new and old ministers wishing a happy new year.
