Pilot in fallen training aircraft dies following fatal injuries

The pilot of a fallen T-2E Buckeye training aircraft of the 363 Air Education Squadron at the 120 Training Wing was found fatally injured, the Hellenic Air Force General Staff announced on Wednesday.

The plane crashed during a training flight on Wednesday at 11:28, half a mile northwest of the airport of Kalamata.
A committee of experts is investigating the reasons for the accident.

Three-day mourning in the armed forces

National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias on Wednesday declared a three-day period of mourning in the armed forces, from Wednesday until Friday, for the fatal injury in the line of duty of Squadron Leader.
