An interval of wet and stormy weather is forecast in parts of western and northern Greece between Saturday afternoon and early on Sunday, following the arrival of the weather system ‘Petar’ on Greece’s shores, the National Meteorological Service warned.

This will bring heavy rain and storms with frequent lightning and hail, affecting the northern Ionian Sea (chiefly Corfu and Paxi) and Epirus, later spreading to western Macedonia and west Central Greece and from the late evening into the northwest Peloponnese, west and north Thessaly and central Macedonia.

The bad weather will start to improve during the night, between Saturday and Sunday morning.
