The Greek Foreign Ministry, via the Crises Management Unit and at Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias’ orders, is in continuous communication with the International Red Cross in order to offer the best possible medical assistance to the two injured Greeks in Khartoum, taking into account the armed conflict taking place in Sudan, which does not allow any attempt to get them out of the country, diplomatic sources said on Wednesday.

“The International Red Cross is aware of the presence and the needs of the other Greek nationals in Khartoum, apart from the two that are injured,” the same sources said, adding that the Foreign Ministry continues to coordinate with the other EU member-states on issues of medical assistance and a possible rescue operation as soon as the conditions allow.”
