The percentage of the subsidy for the replacement of air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers will range from 30 to 50 pct, within the framework of the programme that is expected to be announced by the middle of the year.

The programme for the replacement and recycling of energy consuming electrical appliances will have a budget of 100 million euros with the possibility of securing additional resources if there is high demand.

According to the Environment and Energy Ministry, a basic condition of the programme is the recycling of old appliances (air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers) as these appliances create the largest loads of electricity.

Beneficiary households will be able to replace up to three electrical appliances. The programme will benefit a total of 200,000 households.
