Bank of Greece: Central government primary surplus at 6.3 bln euros in 11-month period

The central government primary surplus came to 6.313 billion euros on a cash basis in the 11 months from January to November 2019, up from a surplus of 5.412 billion euros in the same period in 2018, according to Bank of Greece figures released on Wednesday.In January-November 2019, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of 637 million euros, compared to a surplus of 218 million euros in the same period of 2018, an BoG announcement said.

During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to 45,052 million euros, compared to 45,259 million euros in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to 45,014 million euros, from 44,870 million euros in January-November 2018.

Based on the BoG data, the net balance of the state budget recorded a deficit of 1.26 billion euros in January-November 2019, down from a surplus of 15.1 billion euros in the same period in 2019.
