Gov’t has created conditions of suffocation, misery and disappointment, ND’s Staikouras says

“The government has created conditions of suffocation and misery in the sector of the economy , disappointment and insecurity to the society and escalation of the division tension in politics”, said main opposition New Democracy shadow finance minister, Christos Staikouras, in an interview with Ethnos newspaper on Saturday.

He also noted that “with this captain and this crew, the country without a compass, will not find its Ithaca”.

Staikouras accused the government of “planting mines to the roots of the economy” adding that it can’t succeed high and sustainable growth and in parallel “it undermines that rule of law and the distinction of authorities”.

Asked if the government will be able to remain in the authority even if Independent Greeks (ANEL, the junior party of SYRIZA coalition government) withdraw, Staikouras said that “the scenarios of smooth continuation of the government’s term in case it loses the parliamentary majority are politically and parliamentary problematic”.
