Social businesses to receive funding of up to 150,000 euros, says Efi Achtsioglou




Social enterprises will be able to qualify for finance of between 30,000 to 150,000 euros as a means of giving a significant push to collective social entrepreneurship, said Labor Minister Efi Achtsioglou on Friday.

“In cooperation with regional authorities, the target is boost new business plans and the equipment of existing businesses or of new ventures. We expect that via this support for existing business, and the subsidies for the new ventures, we will have job growth so that we have the drop in unemployment we want,” said the minister from Patras.
She also referred to the creation of a social economy fund that will finance activities and programs to boost social bodies that will be able provide small amounts of finance and working capital.

The Greek government will also very soon set up a support network to help the social economy.

The support centers will be set up across Greece and will have a total budget of 11 million euros that will cover a 90 branch network, added the minister.
