A third of the eight Turkish officers has been granted political asylum by Greek justice

The granting of political asylum to the third of eight Turkish servicemen who fled to Greece following the attempted coup in Turkey two years ago was approved on Thursday.

Specifically, last Friday, a unanimous decision was issued by the Secondary Asylum Committee, according to which political asylum was granted to Turkish military officer Ugur Uckan.

The Asylum Committee is expected to gradually grant asylum to the remaining 5 Turkish officers. The granting of asylum is a prerequisite for issuing travel documents to Turkish officers.
