Prespes name change agreement between Skopje and Athens passes FYROM parliament




The parliament plenum of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) on Wednesday ratified the Greek-FYROM agreement signed on Sunday in Prespes, on the solution of the name issue.

The agreement was voted by 69 deputies, out of 120 in total. VMRO-DPMNE deputies, who oppose the agreement, did were not present at the session.

FYROM Prime Minister Zoran Zaev noted that the agreement signals the start of the end of the uncertainty for the country, as it is a decent and acceptable solution for both sides.
The agreement must now be signed by FYROM’s president.
