Staikouras: ‘Flagship projects with a budget exceeding 3.5 billion underway in Crete’

The final contractor for the construction of the Chania-Chersonissos section of the ‘North Road Axis of Crete’ (BOAK) highway will have been found by early summer, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Staikouras said in Chania on Monday, noting that the concession contract will be signed by the end of the year.

“Flagship projects are under construction in Crete, whose budget exceeds 3.5 billion euros,” Staikouras said in a statement after a working meeting at the offices of the Crete Development Organisation, while praising its importance for the island.

Also at the meeting were Deputy Infrastructure and Transport Minister Nikos Tachiaos, Deputy National Defence Minister Yiannis Kefalogiannis, MPs for Crete Sevis Voloudakis and Alexandros Markogiannakis, the organisation’s general director Aris Papadogiannis and members of its staff, among others.
