Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis, during a press briefing on Thursday, said that a meeting between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and representatives of the farmers is possible.

When asked about the government’s comment on the letter sent to the prime minister, outlining the demands of the groups of protesting farmers, Marinakis confirmed the receipt of this letter, adding:

“The prime minister, obviously, as we have said many times before, is willing to meet them on Monday. We are now waiting to see who he will be meeting and who the people he is meeting with represent.”

Marinakis also emphasised that, as the government has repeated several times and the prime minister said in Haidari on Wednesday, “a condition for continuing the dialogue with farmers is that the roads remain open.” He  stressed that the government seeks to have a dialogue with farmers in a good atmosphere.
