Explosion near Greek-owned bulk carrier, 53 nautical miles southwest of Aden

An explosion occurred on Tuesday near the Greek-owned bulk carrier Star Nasia, while it was sailing in the Red Sea, approximately 53 nautical miles southwest of Aden, Yemen.

The Marshall-flagged vessel sent out distress signal, while there is no information of any damage or injuries.
According to sources, the vessel had left from the USA bound for India and reported an explosion at a distance of 50 metres from its starboard side.
