31-member Tempi inquiry committee established by Parliament President Tassoulas

An inquiry committee that will look into the fatal train collision at Tempi (Feb. 28) was established by decision of Parliament President Constantine Tassoulas on Monday.

The committee comprises 31 members, all MPs: 16 from New Democracy, 5 from Syriza-Progresive Alliance, 3 from Pasok-Kinal, 2 from the Communist Party of Greece, 1 from Greek Solution, 1 from Spartiates, 1 from Niki, 1 from Plefsi Elftherias and 1 independent MP.

The proposal to establish this committe was first proposed by the Communist Party of Greece and was titled ‘The investigation of the Tempi crime and all aspects related to it’. Parliament had approved its creation by a majority vote on Nov. 15.
