U.S. Ambassador to Greece George J. Tsunis on Wednesday addressed the Energy Transition Symposium organised by the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics, where he emphasised Greece’s leadership role in eliminating energy dependence on Russia, the energy transition and the supply of energy to the Balkans.

Tsunis referred to the LNG terminal at Revythoussa and other terminals under construction, saying these generated competition and diversified energy supply sources.

He also pointed out Greece’s position among the top 10 EU countries for investments in renewables and proposed that the EU finance investments to switch the Greek commercial fleet to green hydrogen.
