During the debate on Wednesday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis presented with seriousness and a sense of responsibility his priorities for the next four years so that Greece further converges with Europe, in wages, dynamic growth of the economy and investments, in the functioning of the state, in the security of our borders, in health and education so that we can all become collectively and individually better, government spokesperson Akis Skertsos said at a press briefing.

He added that the prime minister recognised mistakes and failures as well as that the government did not solve all the problems. He underlined, however, that he avoided toxic speech and the past, looking forward “to the realistic solutions to deal with the problems in our country.”

“Last night, however, we saw something else,” Skertsos underlined.

“We saw the total isolation of another political leader, Alexis Tsipras, from the rest of the centre-left and the left in terms of his plan for progressive governance and cooperative governments. We saw the so-called alliance of the left collapse like a house of cards.”
