Eva Kailli released from prison: Under house arrest

Eva Kaili, former Vice President of the European Parliament, was released from prison on Friday and is now under house arrest.
Kailli was arrested on December 9, 2022.

“My daughter is now waiting for me. I am happy to be with her. My lawyers will keep fighting with determination,” she said while leaving the prison.

Kailli was arrested and charged in early December 2022 by Belgian prosecutors, who are investigating a case of corruption and money laundering within the European Parliament.
