Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his belief that the Parthenon Marbles will eventually return to Athens in an interview with the Sunday Times.
Mitsotakis, according to the newspaper, believes that Britain’s decision on the return of the Parthenon Marbles is approaching. In fact, the Greek Prime Minister stated that he will raise the issue when he visits London again. This will most likely happen at the end of November.

The prime minister said that the climate has changed in the United Kingdom adding that he will tell his British counterpart, Liz Truss, that the return of the Marbles will be a “fantastic gesture” on the part of Britain at a time when the UK is sort of cornered in terms of its overall image.

The Greek prime minister also noted that he has a “good personal relationship” with King Charles who will have to remain neutral on the issue due to his position, but is supportive of the initiative to re-unite the Parthenon Marbles.
