British national dies in helicopter accident at Spata, Attica: Pilot and ground technicians arrested

A 22-year-old British national lost his life in an accident involving a helicopter in the Attica area of Spata early on Monday evening.

The accident occured at 18:20 at a heliport in the area of Agios Georgios, where the man was most likely struck by the tail rotor.

British newspaper Daily Mail reported that the man was trying to take a selfie.

He and three other compatriots had just flown back from the island of Myconos with the rented helicopter.

The pilot of the helicopter  along with two ground technicians were arrested and will appeared before a public prosecutor on Tuesday.
