President Sakellaropoulou receives Prime Minister Mitsotakis: Talked about the pandemic

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday went to the Presidential Mansion to brief President of Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on the recent developments on the pandemic.
“Initially, I want to inform you that the variant Delta obliges us to intensify our efforts to persuade our compatriots that are skeptical to be vaccinated. Ms President, the huge effort in our country and in the entire world to address the pandemic continues but, unfortunately, we have not yet managed to fully control it”.
“The Delta variant is very contagious and is dominating this period and as it is period of holidays it is important to continue to be very cautious” Mitsotakis said.
On her part, President Sakellaropoulou said that the science has decided that the only solution against the pandemic is the vaccination.
The vaccination effort should intensify, she said adding that “the virus hits the society without exceptions, collectively, and each of us with his stance should become an example οf behaviour on which we will build the social solidarity. I want to call on the citizens to get vaccinated” she said.
