Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance on Wednesday blamed Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the violence that has erupted in the last few days, following the clashes between police and protestors in the Athens district of Nea Smyrni.

Specifically, in an announcement, the main opposition party stated: “The strategy of violence which Mitsotakis has invested in, after failing in everything, can only guarantee the recycling of violence and social insecurity. The country needs respect for democracy and social rights to overcome the difficulties; conditions that do not align with Mitsotakis’ strategy.”
