Greek mission delivers humanitarian aid to earthquake-stricken Croatia

A Greek mission sent in response to Croatia’s request for humanitarian aid arrived in the country shortly after Wednesday’s destructive earthquake, which caused extensive damage and claimed seven lives.

At the orders of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Greece sent an aid package that included tents, sleeping bags, blankets, sheets, heaters and other essential items for the people left homeless by the powerful tremor, which arrived in the country at 20:15 on Wednesday evening.
The Greek mission was the first to reach Zagreb from the countries of the European Union, following Croatia’s request for aid via the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
