We have launched a new diplomacy that is a diplomacy of credibility, not a diplomacy of begging,” State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis said on SKAI TV on Friday.

Gerapetritis noted that, for the first time, Greek diplomacy is more reliant on data rather than its hopes and wishes. “For this reason the Greek Prime Minister, during his visits last week, wanted to highlight the change in the political climate in Greece. That is, the new economic policy that is being pursued and the new policy that will lead to an increase in wealth in Greece, with an increase in investment and economic stability,” he underlined.

Asked about the results of the prime minister’s trip to Berlin, he replied that very specific steps had been taken. “There has been a thorough understanding and agreement that there will be a flow of investments to Greece from German companies. We expect that a specific timetable will be set in the coming months so that German investments coming to Greece will have a very serious impact on the Greek economy,” he said.

Asked about the Public Power Corporation (PPC), Gerapetritis offered assurances that “the government will take all necessary measures to save the country’s biggest company” and stressed that “the Greek people will not pay for the damage that has been done.”
