EU Commissioner Pierre Moscovici in Athens; to meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras




European Commissioner Pierre Moscovici will visit Athens on Wednesday. The Commissioner will meet with Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos and afterwards he will go to the government headquarters at the Maximos Mansion (approximately 14:45 and 15:30 Athens time) to meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
There will be brief statements to the press after the end of the meetings.

Later, Moscovici will have meetings with government vice president and Economy Minister Yiannis Dragasakis, Labour Minister Effie Achtsioglou, Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos and Environment and Energy Minister George Stathakis.

European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Pierre Moscovici will the the keynote speaker at an event organised by the Greek-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday. Moscovici will meet with representatives of the business and bank sectors in order to be briefed on the situation of the Greek economy, according to EU sources.

The European Commissioner will have a series of contacts with the state and political leadership in order to urge the government to speed up the implementation of the reforms undertaken by Greece in the context of the post-programme commitments to successfully complete the second post-programme review and lead to the disbursement of the profits from Greek bonds held by central European banks and the ECB,” the same sources said.
