Greeks today must says ‘NO’ to populism, division and intolerance, Mitsotakis says

Main opposition New Democracy President Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Sunday expressed his conviction that Greeks will succeed in “taking the country forward” if they stay united, in statements after attending celebrations for the October 28 national holiday in Vryses, Chania on the island of Crete.

“The young children that took part in today’s parade, with their smiles, self-confidence and optimism also show us the degree of our own responsibility, which is none other than to ensure that they will live a life better than that of their parents,” he said.

While honouring the great ‘NO’ uttered 78 years ago on the mountains of Macedonia and Epirus, the current generation must also say its own ‘NO’ to populism, division and lack of tolerance, he added.

“I have no doubt that we will overcome this great challenge also; we will overcome it united so that we can finally take the country where it deserves to be, finally take Greece forward. Together we can do it,” he said.
