Heavy rains cause floods all around Attica, more than 100 distress phone calls to the fire brigade

More than 100 calls for assistance have been made to the fire brigade following a sudden and heavy storm that broke out over Attica on Sunday afternoon, flooding homes and businesses, according to a post on the fire service’s Twitter account.
The civil protection agency on Sunday urged residents in Attica to exercise great caution when going out due to the extreme weather phenomena and very heavy downpours around the Greek capital, avoiding unnecessary movements in areas where the phenomena are severe and following the instructions of the authorities.
