Duchess of York promises tourism minister Kountoura support for Greek fire victims




Sarah, Duchess of York has offered her unmitigated support and promised to assist in efforts to provide relief to those affected by the deadly Attica fires in a meeting on Wednesday with Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura in Athens.

The British writer, film and television producer and former wife of British royal Prince Andrew, who is actively involved in charity work, expressed her deep sorrow and sympathy for the tragedy that has struck Greece and said she will provide every possible help.

“Fergie” said that, as a charity worker, she was impressed by the way that everyone was working hard to help their fellow human beings. “We are here to help. Greece is a very beautiful country and it is important to say this to all the media, people must come here and see how beautiful it is,” she said. With regard to tourism, she complimented the work done by Kountoura in this area.

The minister thanked Sarah Ferguson and noted that the government is doing whatever is necessary to help the people in need.
