Negotiations with creditors going very well, moving towards agreement

“Talks are going very well and we are heading in the direction of closing the staff level agreement,” said a government official after the completion of talks with lenders on Thursday.

The official added that negotiations will continue on Friday on outstanding issues. The first item on the agenda Friday at 10:00 is the Enfia property tax. Later talks will focus on other issues: fiscal (11:00), entrepreneurial (12:00), labor (13:00), social welfare (16:00) financial (17:00) and follow up on fiscal (19:00).

After meetings are completed on Friday, talks will take a break and lenders will prepare a draft of a staff level agreement that will be sent to the Greek side. The two sides will then meet up again to finalize the staff level agreement.
