Government warded off further deregulation of labour laws, Achtsioglou says

The Greek government has achieved an agreement on the main and toughest issues of the negotiations with the institutions, the reforms during and after the end of the program, Labour Minister Efi Achtsioglou said on Friday, speaking to ANT1 TV channel’s newscast.
The minister said the government managed to stop the further deregulation of the labour market. “Particularly on the issue of mass layoffs, there are no changes like those demanded by the IMF. We managed to ward off changes in the institutional framework for lockouts,” she said adding that there will be some changes in the union laws that concern some privileges.
“A clear path for the second review opens,” she said, commenting on Eurogroup’s decision to recommend the return of the institutions in Athens. “Discussions on debt measures will intensify and we will reach a comprehensive agreement, probably with an extraordinary Eurogroup,” she said, noting the deal will include some arrangement on the debt.
“The positive and negative measures will be legislated together and will have a zero financial impact,” she added.
