“Greece has made progress in a number of structural reforms in recent years and the growth of the Greek economy is an indicator of this positive development,” Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said in an exclusive interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), ahead of the European Council meeting in Brussels on Wednesday.
Tax revenue on property transfers grew 40.8 pct in the January-July period this year, compared with the same period in 2017, totaling 204.63 million euros, official figures showed on Thursday.

Greece’s economic growth rate in the first quarter of the year expanded at the fastest pace since 2008, said the Hellenic Fiscal Council in a quarterly report on Wednesday.
Greece’s exit from the bailout in August “will create the basis for fair growth, further boosting investor confidence,” said Minister of State Alekos Flambouraris in an interview to Sunday’s Kontranews newspaper.
“There is no doubt that the government is meeting its [primary surplus] targets for 2018-2019 and the discussion is now focused only on the size [of surplus] that will allow tax reductions and focused interventions on spending,” a Greek government official told reporters on Thursday.
