Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had a series of meetings with top European officials in Strasbourg on Tuesday. After speaking at European Parliament, Tsipras met with the European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Pierre Moscovici.
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Wednesday praised Greece’s Herculean efforts, while addressing the European Parliament.
The European Parliament paid tribute to the victims of the bridge collapse in Genoa, the floods in Calabria and the wildfires in East Attica with a one-minute silence on Monday, by request of Europarliament President Antonio Tajani.
“Greece has made it. Three years later, it is part of the solution and not the problem. This is a success of the Greek people,” Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday addressing the Europarliament plenary.
In a resolution adopted by an overwhelming majority of 607 MEPs on Thursday, the European Parliament plenary has called on Turkey to swiftly conclude the judicial process and release two Greek soldiers held in a Turkish prison since early March, when they accidentally wandered across the border into Turkish territory while on patrol.
