A First-instance Court on the island of Rhodes on Tuesday handed down suspended sentences of six and seven months imprisonment, respectively, to two 19-year-old men who had attempted to remove the Greek flag from a Police Security Sub-Directorate building.
The sentences are suspended for three years.
The two Swedes were found guilty of disrespecting symbols of great national importance, while the court admitted their youth as post-adolescents as a mitigating circumstance.
