A fire broke out earlier on Thursday in the area of Aghios Stefanos in the municipality of Monemvasia, Lakonia.

The fire is burning farming and forest area. A total of 11 fire engines with 40 crew members, two teams of firefighters on foot and a water-dropping helicopter were sent to put out the blaze.
According to the Fire Brigade, the fire is not threatening inhabited areas so far.
