Newly-elected SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance party leader Stefanos Kasselakis on Monday visited former party leader Alexis Tsipras in the latter’s office in Parliament.
Tsipras congratulated Kasselakis on his victory and advised him to enjoy these first few days, noting that political life has few joys, whereas the difficulties are continuous.
He underlined that there was great potential, adding that “we must give hope and prospects.”
Stefanos Kasselakis on Sunday elected as the new leader of main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, according to an announcement by the head of the party’s Electoral Committee Yiannis Drosos.
Kasselakis received 56.69% of the vote, against 43.31% for rival candidate Effie Achtsioglou.
According to Achtsioglou’s team, she telephoned Kasselakis to congratulate him on his victory.
