Daniel storm: Two dead, three missing; Traffic suspended on part of Athens-Thessaloniki motorway

Two people died during the storm Daniel sweeping Greece as of Tuesday.

According to the Fire Brigade, an 87-year-old woman that was missing from yesterday in the area Paltsi, Magnesia region was found in a pile of wood while 8 firefighters managed to recover her body.

On Tuesday, a 51-year-old man died when a wall fell, due to the high quantity of water.
Additionally, the Fire Brigade said that there is information for two missing persons in the village Paltsi.

Another individual, a 42-year-old man who was swept away by flooding waters at the stream Aghia Ekaterini of Volos is also missing.

Traffic has been suspended on the Athens-Thessaloniki motorway from Nikea, Larissa until the borders of Magnesia region due to the extreme weather conditions and the flooding waters that have covered the road.

The regional police directorate of Thessaly announced that traffic will be suspended for all vehicles on both directions
