Bangladeshi suspect in Kos island murder case to testify on Tuesday; new defense lawyer appointed

A 32-year-old Bangladeshi national charged with kidnapping, raping, and murdering a young Polish woman, 27, on Kos island will testify in court on Tuesday.
Lawyer Athena Fountotou was appointed by the court to replace the defense lawyer who resigned on Friday following the addition of charges. The Bangladeshi man was initially charged with kidnapping the woman, and later of premeditated murder and rape as well.
Fountotou requested an extension for her client’s testimony to Tuesday.
Following a missing person report filed by the young woman’s boyfriend, her body was found in a grass-covered plot of land on June 18.
